Help.

Hi guys, I am only new to mtb about a year or so and i have a Giant Anthem x2 to which I really love. Of late I have started going out with a few new lads that i got to know and i am travelling up to Wicklow most sundays to ride Djouce, glen of the Downs, Wicklow way, Three rock etc. I was used to just riding ballinastoe and the odd trip to Ballyhoura which the Anthem was great for. Maybe its just my lack of skill but I am the only lad from this group with a 100 mm bike as they all have 140mm bikes and its not small man syndrome but I am thinking on buying a Canyon nerve am as i find myself stopping at some of the stuff and hesitating where they just blast over it. Is the Anthem up to riding most stuff around Wicklow or do I really have Small Man Syndrome ! Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

The Anthem is a great XC bike, it does everything from XC racing to Gravity Enduro's, climbs and descends well...

If you are looking for a more "aggresive XC" bike then go for the Giant Trance...forget about Canyon...

Stick with the Anthem, 140mm is not required where you are riding. As you skills improve you will find you can do almost anything on the Anthem.

When you start hitting really big mountains consider a 140mm machine to compliment, not replace your Anthem.

Or just buy a Cross bike and stick to nice safe parks like me ......

Yeah its all about the rider.. Alfie can do all spins on his Anthem and Damo rode down Lug on his carbon hardtail. But does it mean anyone can do it? No.

If I didn't race and could have only one bike it would be a 140mm travel bike like the Trace, Zesty or RZ140. Its more comfortable, easier to ride and most importantly more fun!
Why wait months to get better while watching your mates disappear into the distance on their big bikes, where is the fun in that?

If you have the money then sell the anthem and buy Richie's Zesty.

how in the name of jaysus is a bike agressive ?? a nuns tricycle with 2008 richie byrne pedalling would be agressive !!
