Go Tubeless, I had those Dr. Sludge tubes in, they do the job but they weigh a ton, and you WILL be worried about weight later if not sooner :-) I got Alfie in Expert to do the tubeless conversion, save you endless hassle and very reasonable.
GT proper UST tyres and Rims, they just work! You want 'bullet proof' get the proper job and don't be messing with slime tyres or gtto tubeless.
I'm not particularly good but I'm sure Richie or some of the others will agree that if you are always getting pinch flats it is down to too little psi in your tyres or poor riding technique.

Ghetto is pretty easy to do, so if u want to save money then that's best option.
If u have the money just go for the kit instead.
Also depends on what tyres u are using too, plus pinch flats usually result in two biggish holes
In the tube And the tube with goo won't really seal very well,
Get a good set of tubeless rims, like stans etc and u can use any tyre u like tubeless
I had a Ghetto conversion on my last set of Mavic Crossrides and a Stans conversion on the my current set. The Ghetto conversion worked fine but was messy when you were changing tyres, it also involved drilling out the valve hole to fit the Schrader valve which I didn't much like! The Stans conversion has been perfect and works as well as the proper tubeless rims that I have on my Crossmaxs. I would pay the extra and do the proper Stans conversion. I wouldn't bother my arse with slime filled tubes .... !
noooooooooooooo...slime filled tubes are a waste of money..UST Rims all the way..until somebody gives me a set of stans rims to try out then its UST all the way for me..but without tubeless you may as well be illiterate, nothing will make sure spin as enjoyable and don't feck around with super low pressures, thats for ace pilots only..
Many thanks fellas for your input. Tubeless it is then! 'sfunny my outgoing bike had Mavics with a Stans tubeless kit and it was so reliable that I ended up going on lots of local outings without even a spare tube. I'd forgotten that - must be flouride in the water or summit. I have the tippex so all I need are two rim tapes for the new bike.
The answer is simple - just put 28+ psi in your tires
Pinch flats are due to not enough pressure
I had ust tires and tubes till i got a new bike - now I have inner tubes for the last year - Have punctured only once
I dont see the need to go all tubeless slime rim tape bmx tube getto bla bla
just put more air in your tire and drink the cost of the conversion
My outgoing bike has your old set of wheels Oldskool (remember them!) and they have been just great. On the new bike it's funny I have been getting quite a few punctures on the front and It may be because I keep forgetting to unlock the fork for the rough stuff - still getting used to it.
I have 45psi in the front and 50 in the rear so certainly not underinflated. You're doing well there only getting one puncture in a year. Maybe your tyres are that bit heavier / tougher? Or maybe it's your angelic riding style, floating over the rough stuff

they where a great set of wheels..
45 /50 psi and still getting pinch flats - you are lifting your front wheel over obsticles aren't you?
Go tubeless and ride with 25 psi! - that will be a far more comfortable ride
I only get 1 puncture because I dont cycle anymore...
