- Nukeproof Generator wheelset, 20mm bolt thru front, 135mm QR rear
I bought the frame second hand from Cotic in 2009, its the previous model in a large and made from nothing but 853 steel. I'm 6ft with a 34" inseam, fits me perfect with a long seatpost on it. Most of the parts were bought November 2009 apart from the seatpost, clamp and headset which were replaced mid 2011.
The bike was well used by me and slightly abused but apart from some scratches, cable rub and the likes, theres absolutely nothing wrong with the frame, no dents or bad damage.
The forks were serviced at the start of summer 2011 by Al in the BikeRack with new seals. They didn't see much action after the service, some marks to the lowers and cable rub to the crown. Some real small marks at the upper end of the stanchions that does not effect performance.
The wheel bearings front and rear were replaced at the same time as the fork service and appear to be fine. The freehub sounds good and spins nicely. Wheel rims are strong and don't have any major damage or dings, just some scratches. Also have a Stans rim strip for tubeless conversion and some spare pawls for the freehub that I will throw in with the bike.
I've fitted new brake pads on the back but they will need adjusted as I didn't get the pistons all the way in. The brakes are biting OK and can still pull skids.
The mech works spot on but will need some new jockey wheels and a fresh cable to get it running sweet.
Unfortunately it does have a shady past, it was stolen/recovered, so was living a bit of a feral life for a few months probably pulling wheelies and skids around Finglas. Whilst in the custody of the wee feckers they did manage to get rid of some decent tyres, put a bolt through skewer in the back wheel, cause some rust spots to appear on the frame and grind off the serial number on the bottom bracket. All the rust appears to be surface only and could be touched up easily. 853 is really resilient so it shouldn't be a problem.
Bike is sold as seen, I'm not splitting the parts, its sold all together or not at all. Would prefer to keep it but need the cash to feed my Yeti. Selling for â¬600, ovno. Hopefully I've included everything about the bike so you know what you're buying, any questions just let me know. Contact me by email djcromieATyahoo.com
Cheers
