maxxis ignitors 2.35

any one use these tyres?? what are they like?? how's the roling resistance/grip??

been using contis for a long while now. just tempted to change to the ignitors.
I was using these recently (tubeless) and swapped the front for a Bulldog. The ignitor is a great summer tyre, and OK in winter, but not great, it's profile is quite rounded so the edges don't 'bite' as much as you would like, it's tread pattern is really not aggressive enough for our winters. Rolling resistance? Who knows, they roll fine in my experience, just don't get the square ones, they barely roll at all.

Anyhoo, a lot of people use them and like them.
They're by far the narrowest 2.35's I've ever had. They're about as wide as this is useful.
Good all round tyre, will clog and slip in sticky clay conditions.Good rolling on hard surfaces.Go for 2.35 as 2.1 are super narrow and pinchflat easily.
I've been using the UST 2.35s for the last few months and like them a lot. Good strong sidewalls too.
I have the Black UST version also 2.349999 on the front and 2.1 on the rear find them great...Wouldnt bother with the white wall version.
I have used many tyres in my time..many many tyres, some with fancy names like ignitor, others with stupid names like TimbuktII but they all had one thing in common..they was full of air. Sure they had knobbles and patterns and sidewalls thick and thin..but its the pressure or lack of it that counts.
I have never subscribed to the rolling resistance urban legend..I would imagine that rolling resistance only really makes difference if you are in a Jet Powered Rocket car..riding your bike through smud and knee length gorse, or off the back of Katygollagher I can't imagine yu querying the rolling resistance of you Globodex Turbotrons ( new tyres from my start up bike parts company, we also offer Hybollix Brake maintainence and we'll soon be offering Shockabsorber overhauls)
At last ur all saved with Byrners Fast fit pit stop.Spins will be such fun watching hi tech engineering components pass you by in the air.Non converted riders will resort to the rosery on steep decents clutching their XTR rosery beads and prayin their recently serviced steed reaches safe ground in one piece. This will bring a new excitment to mtbing.Ritchie do u still want that sledge hammer and 20" hyd vise grips you wanted to borrow.
It seems he managed to create his remote locout device without the aid of the sledge and 20 " hyd. vicegrips.

Or maybe he wanted them for the purpose of torturing the lad who sold him a Lapierre that fell apart on the road climb to the Blue Light... ;-)

That's my laugh out loud for the day, thanks!
i had a kona stinky a few years ago and decided one day to "fabricate" my own mech hanger with a bit of metal a grinder and a drill. long story short following monday had to order new back wheel new derailler new chain AND new mech hanger. DONT GO THERE!
too late, I've already sold 4, besides everybody knows Konas are complete ****e..I broke 2 .
i went through a period with the stinky where i broke 3 deraillers in about 6 weeks. couldnt figure out what the hell was wrong so brought it to a "local bike shop" up the road. he'd never even seen a proper bike before so he had'nt a clue what was wrong but he suggested it was an awful waste of money putting lx/xt deraillers on and would i try something cheaper. i thought why not. he said he had just the one for me. he came out after a few minutes with a derailler off a childs barbie bike (i kid you not). the one with the big pink jockey wheels. i thought what the hell and off i went. up to bree next morning and i was almost laughed off the hill.(you could spot this thing from 100 yards). started off at the top and hit the first little drop. what followed can only be described as an explosion of pink plastic and spokes! my buddies were all rolling around the place laughing at me as i picked up my stinky my pride and my barbie bits and again walked to the bottom. sold the kona a few weeks later.
