I'm bored with Ignitors and fancy a bit of a change!
I used Nobby Nics Evos last year for the Club League and loved them when it was wet (nearly all the time!) but found they were a bugger to get sealed and the side walls were very suspect - they were also a bit "draggy" in drier conditions!
Should I just go for the UST version of the Nobby Nics or has anyone found a tyre that offers similar grip in the wet but rolls a bit better?
Mr Seymour has suggested Mountain King Xs as a good all rounder but, lets be honest, he doesn't need to rely on tyre grip as much as I do!!

Yeh try Continentals, they're a 2.2 so you get much more volume out of them, more grip comfort etc. Id prefer the X King to the Mountain King though, nicer rounder profile. I like the Rocket Rons but the EVO versions tend to burp at low pressures and the UST Rocket Rons are pretty much the same weight as the Continentals so better off with the Conti's. Hutchinson Toro's are also a nice option.
I love rocket Ron Tubeless ready and light as fcuk but sidewall can let u down, the conti get great reviews but I've never used them, I'm not a big fan of ignitors any more, they last forever but no way as grippy as the swalbies. The general price of bike tyres compared to car tyres is shocking though
I got an XKing from Alfie half way through last years club league and it is still going strong, no burps, punctures, nothing. Not what I was expecting after my last experience of Contis. I have it on the back though, as it is not as gnarly as I would like for front end grip, give me something with a bit more bit please, hence the Toro on the front. You did seem very happy on the Nics though so why not just get stronger versions, I don't think you need to worry too much about the dry conditions!
well..I am using a 2.3 wtb moto on the rear of my trance and its ****ing deadly , loads of grip , big knobbles , makes a great sound on tarmac , sheds mud, logs, small children, toy dog, benders with tyre issues..if I could get a 2.1 versions for my anthem I would..other wise I'll stick Ignitors , how can you get bored with a tyre..ride the schlomp , nail those roots , huck the slime ..I don't actually worry about tyres..I worry about is the pizza going to be late, will I run out of wine before the end of the DVD, will i even see one nice arse today..**** like that..

Ok here is my opinion, I generally go for round and black tyres not into the colored option....hope this has been helpful you have my ph no if you need to discuss it in more detail!!
boom boom Don!!!! Ok sensible answer. I was on racing ralphs last sunday on an unfamiliar bike with 29" wheels and I managed to ride most of the off camber rooty section heading to the dry lake, they were a bit skittery in the muck but grand, I find the rocket ron front and racing ralph rear a great combo or both rocket rons for wet weather with 40psi, is the way forward 36psi for you........ do it...... do it!!!
