But if you must have an answer, folding are lighter, and wire are cheaper to make as they use old coat hangers, but I am sure there is hint of scam or scamola from the manufacturers, I still can't figure out how a bike tyre can cost over €50.

I was actually using them as an example. I am considering the Conti Barons. The weights are 980g for the wire and 920g for the folding, so a 6.5% decrease in weight for a 100% increase in price, hmmmm!

I don't run tubeless tyres so have no use for a UST race king and last time I checked, i am good for chainsets and front mechs (is that the biking predator version of sweeties and lollipops?)

Am I reading this right... you don't run tubeless so you have a tube and nearly 1kg tyre on each wheel?! You might as well wear a camelback filled with led!
Put Stans strips, Conti Protection tyres, X King 2.4 if you want to go big... 630g per tyre. You will save around 800g of your bike weight where it matters the most.
if you had a Camelback full of Leds you would be seen for miles..Tyres with wired beads..very cheap, without wire not so cheap and fold, why they fold , who knows..Max might but hes out in the airport land planes with his back pack full of lights !
