What bike???

Hi everybody
Wondering what people would suggest here?

Looking to get one bike for the young fella for next seasons race calender.
He is 16, about 5' 10" and quite fit.
The bike must be suitable for both xc races and the enduros
As well as being able to handle AM spins too.
Have a budget of about €1000.
Any suggestions welcomed
Also if anyone is selling a bike or frame that may suit let me know
and ill have a look at them.

I have a Trek Ex8 that might suit him. I raced the Epic club league on it last year and managed to win it so its not too heavy for XC. It has 120mm travel and a dropper seat post so I am sure it would be good for Enduro too.
It's a medium so should fit. I have. Advertised on the forum.

No bike is going to be great at XC and Enduros, he needs to figure out which discipline he enjoys most. If he is more serious about XC look for a short travel FS (Anthem), which will still to AM spins easily, more serious about Enduros/fun that the above Trek or a Trance is a safe bet.

Agree with Don no one bike will do both well.
His age in mind. I would recommend something like a Cotic Bfe with a decent adjustable travel fork in the range of 120-150.
These hardtails give away very little in in speed to all mountain full sus bikes and might transfer a bit better to xc if you build it up light.
Bottom line though it would be a much better bike for the young lad to develop a smooth riding style and better skills. Lower maintenance/ cost etc too.
Really don't be put off by the fact its a hardtail. Many gravity riders have one of these bikes in the stable
