Just when you think there can't be anything special with roof bars and bike racks - check these items out.
I have the following stuff in as-new condition - only installed a week ago and used once. Bought them for my new car but it turns out they are not a good solution for me because the new car is too tall and I am too short: I almost damaged the brand new car by trying to climb on the car and get the bikes onto the racks.
I have been offered a full refund by the reseller (www.roofbox.co.uk - highly recommended BTW) but I'll try to sell them here to save me from the hassle of shipping them back. I need to let the reseller know if I want to proceed with the refund very soon so if you are interested please let me know ASAP. Prices are almost non negotiable given I can get the refund.
Yakima Front Loader bike rack - â¬100
This is a peculiar bike rack that securely holds your bike without needing any attachment to the frame. See below video for explanation on how it works.
It will fit any bar irrespective of the size.

Atera Giro AF bike rack - â¬80
This is very similar to the Thule 591. Nicer look (at least IMHO) and wider range of frame diameters that it will clamp onto. Compatible with both square bars or bars with T-track

Whispbar roof bars with flushed bars adapters. - â¬200
These are the most silent and fuel friendly roof bars money can buy. The adapters I got fit Hyunday IX35, Kia Sportage and many others. Check here for details.
You can also get separate adapters to fit them on many other cars.
