Harri was mentioning that wider bars might be a good thing on the last spin (ie you;re not great going downhill)
Whats everyone using at the moment?
My bars are currently 630width with a 25mm rise...
Rob
I'm on 740. I used 580 for years not knowing any different but going wider ( and importantly shortening the stem accordingly) made a big difference to my comfort in the descents
Hey Rob I'd say you're probably faster than me going up and down however there is lot to be said for wider bars I've 760mm once you get used to them you'll never go back! That front wheel seems to track better and fight it a little less.

I have been a fan of 720 for years, XC and Trail, 0 or 25 mm rise depending on the bike. Now I am using a 760/15 on the trail bike, feeling so good that I am thinking on a 780/10 to stay more on the front weel while cornering. Bear in mind that bar width changes should go together with stem lenght, and both have to deal with head angle... A 720 bar on a 65º bike can give you a heavy steering sensation, a 760 (with short stem) on a 71,5 front xc bike could make the bike way too quick steering... You should just try and decide. I have a 720/25 at home, if you want to try it for a couple of rides, be my guest.
