I have been cycling with you guys maybe 2 times in past few years... Cannot commit to do it more often as got family to raise now (2 boys). You are great bunch of lads and I will return defo at later stage, but now I am looking to find used, not beaten up, full susp bike. Would really love if experts here say a word or show few ads what to buy, what not to, what year is a cut of year for a used bike and I should just walk away (3-5 years old?)?
My budget is area of 500, but can go up to 700 if bike is worth it?
What I am looking is:
Not a downhill bike
Have to have more than 100 or 120mm of travel front (and back)
Medium to Large frame - I am 6'1 (187cm)
Would not like (but not saying no) to bike like Giant Anthem - mainly due to XC heritage and low travel. Would like something more 'aggressive' - like Giant Trance. (these are just examples so whoever will like to help get an idea of what I am after)
I am not very good with all the "what is good, what is not" but have some understanding in bikes. Would really like fork/shock which does the job and is not stiff. After all this is one of main reasons I want FS - to suffer less on trails.
I own Cube LTD SL 29' (2015) at the moment, love it, but when tried Metro in Ticknock on a rental FS... let's say it was an eye opener...
Been on Facebook Buy and Sell group for long time now, started looking at Adverts and DoneDeal too now.
Already wanted to buy Transition Covert 26 but it was bought before I had a chance to look at it.
Been looking at this: http://www.adverts.ie/mountain-bikes...raded/11635940. Already tried it out. Upgraded soft plushi fork without lockout, good brakes (new), not convinced I should go for it as want to hear recommendations?!
P.S. Could I post pictures of bikes i consider to discuss if they are worth the asking price?
Really appreciate if someone helps as I want to get on FS sooner rather than later
