Right folks it seems that the powers that be are giving me my Dole money, and after selling my DH and XC bike to keep my head above water, i will be replacing them with a nice hardtail that can be chucked into any situation.
Im thinking about something with 140mm front travel and I will be taking advantage of the bike to work scheme thanks to my mammy.
rather than put any effort into searching the web I thought I would open it up to the floor. what do I want people?
I have €1000 to splurge. I want a hardtail with moped brakes and spensions on the front. Nothing too light as it needs to do next years Blast, I would rather buy new so I only have to spend €600 on the €1000 bike but I will consider all 2nd hand jobs (hee hee! hand job!).
Real cycles are selling aload of cheap 09 commecal full sus bikes for around €1200. should I get one of these.

If your using your mammys ride to work money then the bike must be new im nearly certain so unless you get a 2nd hand through a shop it will be a non runner.
I got a commencal from real cycles and cannot fault it. it will do anything and perfect bike for the blast and sunday spins. if you got a meta 5 for €1200 it would be a bargain.
But they are good on warranty, I'm on my 3rd Meta 5, but I'm not small
Damn Im a big guy myself with the style of an even bigger guy. I think ill stay away from the smaller travel bikes then. I was looking at the commencal super 4.3 for â¬1150 as well from real cycles and maybe putting slightly higher travel forks on the front.
