Swapping cables on X7 shifter

Hey! Trying to swap the gear cables on my X7 shifter as the old one is rusty and crinkled. Do I have to take the faceplate off the shifter to take the old cable out? I have been looking for the youtube How to videos but cant find anything? Thanks

Hey Silvia, there should be a little black plastic screw which you unscrew and push the cable out from the other side, its sort of near where the trigger shifters go into the body of the shifter. ie on the opposite side of the little barrel adjusters. Hope this helps.

You don't have to take them apart there's just a little cap that needs to be unscrewed, here's a link to the service manual.
