Smelly Helmet

I need some help with a problem i have, over the last few weeks i've noticed that i've got a smelly helmet. Now i know it's probably down to the fact that i haven't washed it in a few months, but the problem is i washed it today and it still smells.
When i'm riding with it i can't smell it but when i stop i can, it's realy getting me down. I love my helmet and we've been together for a long time now so i don't want to part with it because of an odor problem, can anyone please help

Inch or two of dettol + water in a basin. Pop in helmet with straps submerged, leave over night....presto

Nasty. You mike require the umbrella treatment. Your local GP should be able to point you in the right direction!

Wash the helmet in a baking Soda solution. Don't be tempted to use soaps or chemicals on the helmet shell as many chemicals can destroy the structural integrity of the plastic.

To wash the lining / padding place in an underwear pouch and wash with your bike gear in a normal gentle wash. I always wash my bike gear with regular washing powder and 1/2 a cup of baking soda. The same goes for ski gear.

Baking soda is gods gift to housewives, see below link for all the useless things you can do with it.
