Has anyone got a loan of the tools needed to remove the remains of a bearing (part of the back end below the bottom bracket)from my lapierre 513.
The bearings are about the size of a 20 cent piece,or any advice on removing and replacing them would be greatly appreciated.
I'd have to see it, usually a slightly larger socket put on the side you want to take it out of, plus a bolt through it and the socket. tighten the nut and draw it out into the socket. Might require washers etc....
I have used a standard heavy duty G-clamp to push them out. You just need something to push the old into like a large socket and something to push with like a nut and washer a touch smaller than the bearing and hey presto.
Also works for pushing them back in nice and square too.
