Get yerself one o those park tools chain measure tools and if chain measures within wear range its ok with new block.By replacing chains regular it stops wear on block and middle ring .I normally use 3 chains to one block and front ring and never break a chain.
Come to think of it this chain is not that old, maybe 5 months, I'm going to put on my finest cod piece and lamp out of it tonight.
