Anybody got a loan of one ? The Wall paper in my sittingroom is from a previous owner..and it may be plastered to the wall, normal attempts at removal are proving futile !!
i really hate DIY..help me out here,please.
Get a normal roller and tray.
Put warm water with a bit of washing up liquid into the tray.
Use the roller like you would painting and roll the warm water onto the wall (few gound sheets are handy if you are planning on keeping the floor).
Do once, have a cuppa and a packet of biscuits.
Re-do after about 20 mins.
The wallpaper should come off nice and handy with a regular paint scraper.
You need to score the paper with a purpose made yoke (can lend you one) to perfarate the sealed surface then use an industrial steam wallpaper stripper. Dont waste time with diy ones, any plant hirer place has them.Then a large blade type scraper is your only man (can also lend ye one) spent two months last year stripping 40 years of wallpaper so speaking from experiance..Also if there is no paint over the paper or it is not vinyl coated you can use a chemical remover instead of steam one (also have some left over you can have)..
here ,I have extensive experience in Chemicals, I worked in Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics for over 15 years ..I used to make Nivea Creme !!

Thanks Dave, unfortunately I painted over it the last time but seeing as I now have a whole wall completely rebuilt I better remove the paper from the other three and redecorate !!

Helpful lot, arn't they? all you asked was for a loan of a stripper, not advice.
Anyway, Hangar hire have one. I will bring it with me tomorrow. I'm in the noggin all day....
