I just bought a wheel and shifter..
its deadly smooth, great in tight corners and no dropout worries..
1 x 8..feckin deadly..seeing as I only use 3 gears normally it suits me great!
no i just think they make great sense !! no deraileer issues, no drop out worries..the angle of dangle is spot on and you nly have to change your chain and sprocket ever 200k..!
I just wonder what front derailleeer to get with it !
They are a really good idea Doc. 8 speed, god range, no parts to get dirty, no mech. I'm suprised more don't use them. Richie was well impressed by Gar's. As was I, to be honest. Keep an open mind, you'll see a lot more of them.

ok, feck it... I had one (the one Gar has now), on a commuter and I didn't like it, people with single speed's are basically always in the wrong gear, this yoke is better but almost as frustrating because you're never in the gear you want, the one you want is always in between the two you have, the hub is on the heavy side but then all gear hubs are heavy.
Well, funny you should say that becasue just today, in all that rain and cack, with all the talk of broken Sram mechs, I've broken two of them, I was thinking of stick one back on the bike, feck the weight, at least I can finish the spin !!
Very impressed with the set-up Gar had, I think external mechs will become a thing of the past in the very near future. Whoever is the importer will e selling a recession proof product by the truck load.... Never seen the Byrne fella get so excited about a hub before.
so if you average 30k a spin and do around 5 spins a week you will be changing your chain and sprocket every 7 spins. That seems like a lot of hassle. Nivek
