I'm looking for a 30.9 black seatpost for the downhill bike so it can be a short one, has to be in good nick and preferably a light one. Or if anyone has a carbon post that I could shim up to a 30.9 I'd be interested in that, actually can you cut a carbon seat post?? Will swap for money.

you can cut a carbon seatpost. Just be carefull as it can splinter so take it easy and don't push too hard on the hacksaw.
Wrap the area your going to cut in pvc tape. Then saw through the tape. Less likely to splinter.
from a quick peep on the interdiddley - it looks like it might be a 30.9 but it's a bit marked (the silver underneath is showing) from where I had a saddlebag (eek!) on it at some stage
