Al has a couple of them and could give good advice, I think one's quite light & only used for 1 or 2 bikes, the other is bigger & good for 3 bikes.
There are some options on CRC.
I use a Witter cycle carrier, available from Witter (towbar manufacturers), easily found by Google search. Not sure where you'd get it locally, I got mine in an exchange for another (strap mount) rack. Witter one is extremely quick and easy to use, but does require flange towbar, most towbars seem to be swan neck these days.

found it great for about 6 months but then I noticed I had to tighten the bolt up more and more, the plates that clamp onto the tow ball had worn and the back of the rack was gradually getting higher and higher, tilting in towards the car. It still works but if I kept on using it regulary it'll get to the point where it just won't grip the tow ball.
Just thoght I'd give you my experience of these particular ones!!!
the maypole one pictured is every bit as good as the thule it will take 2 dh bikes no problem and lasts ive had one for nearly 3 years and its spot on. I do have a 4 bike thule that i use when car pooling to races as. But its a pain in the ass to take on and off. The 2 bike thule one is a rip off its not really any better than the maypole one its just got tht brand name on it. I have customers who come in and out of the shop that have maypole racks which must be knocking on for 7 or 8 years old at this stage if not older. No need to spend the extra on the thule one.
Get the 50 quid one Gaz. I've the 3 bike thule and its a pain to put on take off. Brian has one of the 50 quid ones and swears by it. Takes a second to take off and stick in the boot. You won't be tempted to leave it on there when your out on a spin or spend your whole spin wondering if it'll be on there when you get back.
Gaz, I have the one Al pictured. Must have it 5 years. It can hold 3 bikes if you stack cleverly. It's the only one you need. plus, you can lob it in the boot and it's safe. 100% recommend it.
