This seems to be most shops in the country but as far as I know Canyon bikes can only be bought online. Would any of you folks who work in any of the shops in the above schemes order the bike for me? I will of course pay transport costs and a reasonable commission.
i'm sure Canyons are lovely bikes..Fergal has a couple of them but you can't go wrong with buying a bike from your Local bike shop. At least if anything goes wrong you just wheel it back.
And all of the LBS' are experienced with the Bike to work scheme, it would save you a heap of hassle doing that.
Heres an observation of mine. Bikes can look deadly in the magazines and the videos but unless you are very experienced or until you've had a go on or even touched one in the flesh I wouldn't get hung up on the brand. Sizing them can be an esoteric business too..I have lost count of bikes bought that are the wrong size for the rider.

In the meantime I still want a Canyon. Now this from a man who has recently spent more time than I think decent, yes time that could have been spent up the mountain, looking for a pair of jeans in Dundrum shopping centre that I could walk around in without restricting the blood supply to my wedding tackle, which I might add has been pressed into action many moons ago. So, speak up or else I buy the bike anyhow and Cowen and his band of shiesters get to keep the tax rebate.

there is no restriction to what bike or which bike shop you can buy from under the bike to work scheme.
it is only the empolyer that restricts the employee to certain shops
If you are getting a canyon
firstly phone them via skype as you will be on hold for ages,so it's dead cheap.
second thing is to get the derailleur drop out thingy with your order as a spare is vital and you might as well get it whilst ordering bike,I also got my xt pedals there for half the price of any other site 40 i think.
I would still think better to buy local though,as my forks had to go back, and i was without them for a month so bear that hassle in mind too.
I just got reaction from CRC. Class bike. Formula RX brakes are business. Shimano now in 2nd place! Frame looks alot beefier in places than canyon and same weight etc.
