I've got a set of Control by Specialized ,The Captain 2.00 tyres on my xc bike at the moment and my head is wrecked - I keep on getting slow punctures, I mean every 2 days! Are they a bad tyre or is it just me?

Take the tyres off the rim and run your hand around the inside there could be a thorn / bit of glass still in the tyre casing that keeps puncturing the tube.

Specialised tyres are crap so are Kenda Karma's. In my view a lot of tyres are designed to work well in the USA not in Ireland, I find any tyre supplied on a new bike to be too light and prone to torn sidewalls or punctures.
Get rid of them and get some Maxxis Crossmarks or Ignitors UST's I never heard any complaints about them and never had a problem with them. You may have punctures from gorse thorns and can't find them.

I had/have Nobbly Nics and find them great and grippy but crap at keeping the punctures at bay. have had a load of twin "snake bite" punctures. A right royal pain in the ass.
Bought some all round Maxxis something or others (not Ignitors or High Rollars) as recommended to me by Robbie in the bike shop in Carrigaline, Cork. No problems so far.
