Advice Wanted - 2009 Marzocchi 55RC3 forks

I am looking at getting a new set of forks for a Meta 6 and saw these on Merlin for £323, they are still selling them on CRC for £503 so im thinking its a good price?

Does anyone have any experience of them, are they any good or would it be worth getting a second hand pair of Talas from OC if they have some available?

I dont want to spend more than €400 by the way.

i had marzochi 55r and they were crap. sold them quickly after i bought the bike
my friend has the ones with adjustable travel - they get broken on and on again.
he got fox vanilla for around 450 and is more than happy now...

i bought an 2nd hand rs domain for 200, + spent some money on service.
a bit heavy and for sure heavier than talas but i like them.

Ditto.. I'd run a mile from Marzocchi's... I've never had a pair that I liked.. awful bloody things.. you'd be better off using bed springs in a cylinder filled with cooking oil..

last year went for marzocchi 55... were cheap (300e)...
crashed - tst cartridge stopped working there was no lockout and rebound at all,
sent them to crc and was waiting 5 weeks to get them back because they were sent to windwave and had to wait for new cartridge and... long story

got it back with new cartridge, all terrain selection technology is just a label there is no difference between am-ds only lock out wich newer been used but developed faulty once again,
sent it back to windwave 4 weeks ago but dont wait for it, got second hand fox from oc tuning serviced, lighter, plush travel, and if something goes wrong there is a man who can do it for u from monday to friday :)
300+35+15 for postage+ time, and its heavy as f...
know few people who replace their 55's and will never get back to marzocchi after that experience.
I've heard some good opinions about those 09, and 10 forx, that quality improved and marzocchi is back with their new rc systems but I wouldn't take a risk.

Wont be touching them with a barge pole then, so will have to try OC and see whats on offer.
