tires advice

Hi
i'm going to get some tires for rather wet conditions. i'm not an advanced rider so i'm looking for sth what would give me quite much confidence.

bike i'm riding is giant reign X with 160/170mm travel, usually DH trails around dublin.

set up i'm thinking of:

front:
Maxxis Swampthing DH Tyre - Dual Ply
26 x 2.5 - Super Tacky 42a

rear:
Maxxis Minion DH Rear Tyre - Dual Ply
26 x 2.35 - MaxxPro 60a

any advices? shall i go for rear one 2,5 as well? (was gonna go for 2.35 to make it lighter and faster)

Cheers
Luka
I have a 2.35 front swampthing ( 42 a)and its great for grip in the wet and never slides out . For the rear i have a wider 2.5 Michelin Dh16 , which is good for all weather and is quite good for handling mud also. I prefer thinner tyre at the front .
I've been using these for the last few weeks.. 2.1" front and rear..

They have fook all grip and are slippy on pretty much all surfaces except tarmac.. (don't ask me what compound they are as it just doesn't matter in this country of constantly changeable conditions) but they are a hell of a lot of fun to ride off-road.. and they will improve your bike handling skills no end.. IMO..!
