Tires!

Hey Guys, Any suggestions on tire choice?

They're going on a Spez Pich pro, which came with 26in 2.3 tires that are now worn out (http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...12450&eid=5518)

I use the bike for mainly trail/cross country (Saturday handy spins etc) and messing about on Downhill courses. Because i use it for belting/wheezing up mountains, i don't want DH ones that don't roll. Nor do i want ones that can't hold the corners or can't take abuse. For slippy wet and also dust loose dry days, so basically a good all rounder.

I also have no idea what the difference is between folding and wire, can anyone explain??

be carefull with sizes 2,35 is as thick as 2,5 maxxiss.

no way man, the Piranha by Hutchinson is the only game in town..I did the XC Champs course this morning with one on the rear..woohoo..some craic I can tell you ..sliddering all over the race in the torrential rain !!

Dam, can't make up my mind... Looks like its either Ignitor or Piranha, igniter seam better for wet days, but think they'd be better for corning etc on dry days, the Ignitor seams a better all rounder... decisions decisions

the Intense Tyre Systems Edge is still a strong contender as a good all rounder too...

Ignitor is your only man, you can ride it all year so messing around changing tyres, loads of grip and in tubeless hard to beat. Toros/Bulldogs are also a great choice for the front if you want a bit more 'bite'.

Ignitors are good but watch the size, I had nevegals 2.1 and changed to Ignitors.

The way I see it is the 2.1 ignitors are really a 1.95 and are a bit small. A 2.35 ignitor would be equal in size to a 2.1 nevegal.
