Looking after night lights?

What were we meant to do with them during the off season, drain them? Keep them fully charged? Cuddle them? I can't remember, oh yes and where is my charger?

NiMH & NiCd batteries should be fully discharged

Lithium Ion, polymer or substrate batteries should be kept half charged as far as I know.
