Chain change out? Too late? Too soon?

Last night, in an effort to get the bike ready for the club league - I changed the chain (as the chain wear tool told me too - it never lies), However the new chain seems to be slipping under pressure, and changes a little reluctantly on the up, but is fine going back down the cogs, so do I?

A. put the old chain back on & ride the yoke till the cassettte and chain are gone?

B. persist with the new chain until it 'fits'?

I know that changing the cassette & chain at the same time is only nonsense as I've changed the chain on the other bike & it's fine, it's a matter of changing it in time, thing is - am I too late?

Thing is I'll have about 5 minutes to make the change when I get back from work before I'll head up to the race. . .???

If the old chain was working OK Harry I'd put it back on for tonight .... the Club Course (particularly the rocky climb) with a slipping chain is a ****ing nightmare!!

Yes. No wait, maybe, yes, 100% don't do it, possibly. Actually, I have the solution but it takes 6 minutes so no good to you.

Lynchies right, the old chain will feel spurned and will stab you in back when you least expect it, and the new chain that you had the affair with won't want to know when you do come back to her. You've really done it now. Time for a new bike or a good lawyer.

Changing chains is a waist of time I've chain wear indicators say brand new chains are in need of replacment. There a waste of time. With the cost of a decent chain it's not really cost effective to keep changing chains. It's a thing of the past stick the old one v

Al, you need a chain wear indicator wear indicator, did you know that 70% of chain wear indicators suffer from exessive wear, a chain wear indicator wear indicator will sort out your chain wear indication problems.

Recent surveys indicate that indicators with excessive wear will not indicate wear whether its worn or not.

New chain is more likely to slip on middle ring as there soft.I normally put 3 chains on to one cassette and replace middle ring with chain no two.

I'm lost, you put three chains on at one time? Then replace the middle ring with another chain, thats four chains on the bike now, do you need to adjust the indexing with all those chains flying around?
