I need to seal a gap between the kitchen sink and a counter (marble).
I've used a few sealants (unibond and the like) available from Woodies/B&Q over the years and most don't last long, even after good preparation. What is an indestructible sealant, trusted by tradespeople that will seal this once and for all? Black would be good.
As Mac says, TEC7 is your only man, I assume a man of your calibre has a dropped sink under the marble and you want to seal the small gap? The trick is to mask the area well and once you have applied the mastic carefully, spray it with a mist of water, from an old/clean Windowlene type bottle and wet your finger to smooth the surface of the mastic and ensure a clean finish.
don't use black if your sealing the gap between the underside of the marble and the sink. you will end up with black all over the sink. use clear there. If its a staight marble to marble joint, you would be better off with a epoxy resin glue. , otherwise horizontal to vertical joint tec 7 to match the colour. Baby wipes are great for getting the excess off....infact they get most things off....preperation is the key. Any grease or damp and you won't get a good seal. Clean with soapy water and then dry. You shouldn't need to use a grease cleaner if it's just in the kitchen.
