XT brake lever.

Bent an XT M755 brake lever last weekend in Ballyhoura. Anyone know if it's possible to replace just the lever blade? CRC only have the complete unit at €43.

I bent a Hayes Stroker Trail brake lever on the MAD NPS at 3 Rock.Used a hollow bit of pipe to get it back into shape,about 90% right.Lever is working fine,maybe you could try the same??

Just heat up the bent area a small bit with a blow torch and put a bit of 1/2 inch copper pipe over the lever and bend it back gently with even pressure don't do any big jerky or snappy movements.

i'd rather spend 43e on the new leaver than let the old one snap when riding.

You only heat it up slightly, not enough to damage the structure of it

i think you do damage the structure.
it has been bent once - this has weakened the leaver and bending it back around the same point makes it just worse.

unless they are made of something flexible enough.

if it was 200e to spend on a new leaver i'd probably bend it back too but for 43e defo i would consider my safety first.

anyway. your choice.

The lever assembly is available as a spare part (get the code here) from Madision.

However - it costs about £40 according to this!

Thanks for the feedback. The lever is bent pretty bad, so I doubt it will stand being bent back. Looked all over the web and it appears that Shimano do list the part number but it's not possible to buy the lever blade separately - in fact, you usually have to buy both right and left lever units together :mad: thanks Shimano!! CRC are the exception.
