Marzocchi Fork Service - Help?

Hello

I have a question about Marzocchi forks - Marzocchi AM SL1 2007 model to be precise..

I am servicing a pair for a friend.. I have them stripped & have replaced the bushings.. I'm now in the process of putting them back together..

The problem is I cannot find any service manuals for them anywhere.. I can find 'user manuals' but they are next to useless for the information that I need..

I need to know the oil levels and what kind of oil goes in each leg.. I've googled left right and centre but cannot find Marzocchi Service Manuals anywhere... it seems they are rarer than hen's teeth..!!

So if anyone can give some info or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful..

once i came across these ones, make sure your antivirus is working (just in case)

not sure if you can find it there but have a look anyway.

@ Luka - Hmmmm dodgy Russian download sites.. I might just give that a miss for now.. as you pointed out.. make sure the virus scanner is working..!! Thanks anyway..

@ Sprocket - I'd be a bit wary about general forum posts on the subject.. especially from people I don't know... However, it is a good 'guide' for what I'm looking for but I would prefer the official Marzocchi Service Manuals..

as a very brave man, loving the risk, and challenge, i've downloaded the manuals from the dodgy Russian site for you

the latest are 2006 though.

Nice one Eryk..

Now can someone tell me are those oil levels in cc's or mm's from the top of the stanchion.... as the chart doesn't give any indication..?!?!

WTF.. this is very frustrating.. am I reading this stuff wrong or what.. Nothing is straight forward with Marzocchi and the information provided is convoluted and completely arse ways at the best of times...!!

Servicing Rockshox is an absolute breeze and a pleasure compared to this..!

I would say they are in mm,
All weight are in grams and also fork's travel is in mm so i would be very surprised if oil level would be different

Good stuff Eryk, I have them sussed now.. I rang Marzocchi support in the US... I should have just gone straight to the source in the first place.. cut out all the confusion...

From working with Rockshox I'm just used to knowing exactly what oil weight goes where and how much.. its very straight forward.. but with Marzocchi there seems to be a bit of a 'try it and see' methodology going on.!!

Cheers for the plug over on IrishDH too... I owe you a free (rockshox) service for your troubles..!

Once i got some rockshox i will get back to you
but would you not like to get some more experience with Marzocchi ? i have one that is looking for service :)

Hmmmm... thanks for the offer Eryk but I think I'll stick with Rockshox for now.. although I must admit once all the confusion was cleared up the Marzocchi's are actually quite easy to service..

I'm just very precise (fussy) when it comes to these kind of things, especially when your working on someone else's very expensive fancy fork... I just hate it when I need information and end up finding numerous different answers to the same question..!
