looking at getting a new lid ,seen some of the all mountain stuff where the helmet comes down the back of yer head more tha normal, mostly be doing xc/ weeked spins, the blast is a dh as i go,what would ye recomend?

those Fox helmets are very good but there are FR type helmets from all the manufacturers.
They are all built to the same BS standards from basic ones to the Tour de france jobs..
you pay for the weight of it and the amount of air that passes through it.
At the end of the day, its still a Hat, an essential hat but one that blocks heat in nonetheless.
So if you are going to ride a lot at XC Racing Speed consider getting the best one you can that lets loads of air in.
I had one of those Fox helmets but it was too warm for serious xc , i have a Giro xen, same kind of device but much lighter and fits me better.
Other people prefer Met ones..The Bell ones are good..
Just make sure you get one that fits right and spend your money in your local shop !!
and remember real mtbers only use helmets with peaks.
