Winter tyre?

I spent far too much time sliding around yesterday, Sean even said I was brutal, so it's time to dismount the Maxxis Ignitors and put on something a bit more suitable for a muddy winter. Actually I'll keep it on the back so am looking for a nice aggressive, nobbily yoke for the font. I've had good experiences with Swampthings, any others to consider?

I have a practically brand new pair of these for sale Donald...

They are the 2.5" tubeless versions... perfect winter tyre... look like a really aggressive High Roller... soft compound and knobbly as fook...!!

those michys are a dh race tire not quite for you Don they weigh a ton and not for trail riding. I use them on my dh bike and there deadly better than high rollers but aren't gonna be what you want. There also not a winter tire. Let adam take them

Thanks Gerry but I agree with Al, I'm looking for something more capable in the mud, a la Swampthing, yes, I think I'll go with the Swampthing, I rode my last one well into Spring, it also rolled surprisingly well on hardpack.

try the bulldog don way better than the swamp thing for all mtn riding. The swamp thing is a dh tyre after all so again there very heavey. I just bulldogs on my morewood and im very impressed.

If you have seen me lately you would realise weight is not a major concern of mine, but OK, I'll give that bad boy a try. The airlight or the MX casing? I'll be running a non tubless tyre with goo on a Stans tubeless rim.

I have an intense yoke I got off Al...its very good in the schlomp..its an Intense Intuder 2.35 doesn't clog at all and doesn't fcuk me off sideways if I hit a slidery rock..i'd give her 5 stars..but I think tyre choice and riders styles are key..what might suit me probably won't suit you..
would you look at that..probably the first technical question i ever answered that doesn't involve abuse

Iv been running bull dogs for the past 6 months and they're great. Iv got the 2.1's which are pretty narrow so maybe go for 2.3's. You'v got tubeless rims so why not go for tubeless tyres?

i've also used Bulldogs..they're pretty good too, yeah i'd give them the thumbs up..

Robin convinced me to try non tubeless tyres on tubeless rims, lighter but mainly cheaper. Its what I've done with the Ignitors and it's working fine, once the porous sidewalls sealed that is.

Where can I get these Stykerson Komodo's? I'm still waiting for some fool to recommend Panaracers.

you could probably get away with the airlight. I run a proper tubeless 2.1 in the rear with a 2.3 high roller up front and its a great combination. I'd reccomend a 2.3 bulldog on the front with a 2.1 in the rear.
