I have a fairly decent Hardtail which i have had for a while, you can see it here.

When I bought the frame there were no brake boosts [did I get the name right?]. I had borrowed some of another old style cannondale frame [cant remember the type but it had the suspension head shock and looked like this

so I am looking for two boosts for the back brakes.

I have tried cycleways who do cannondale and they were crap - It took nearly a year of going back and ringing nearly every week but they could not get what them. I tried cannondale and they said they would not send them to me unless i bought a **** load of them.

I would really love to get this bike on the road/hills again. does anyone know or have and old style cannondale frame where I might get these boosts?

as far as I know it is a 96 or 98 model so it is an older or odd size Im looking for.

anyone have any suggestions?


also id like to get the 'Da Bomb' Forks serviced but again - cycleways say I have to send them to the uk. anyone know anyone around that can service these?
I wouldnt have a clue and usually when i try fix things they fall apart....

Do you mean brake bosses? Which look like this:

I have a couple off a fairly current bike you can have. They should do the trick, worth a try. I'll be out for tuesdays handy-ish spin if you are interested I can bring them along and you can try them out.

theres 2 sizes for brake bosses generally m10 and m8 we have some in the bike rack if you want to pop out we can see what size you need and if we have ones to fit. We should also be able to service your forks

Shane, I've a '90s vintage super V800 that I've converted to disc, front and rear (surprisingly easy to do)... therefore I've redundant bosses if you still require them. They're in Cork. I'd still recommend the disc break conversion though... S
