Might be a stupid question but anyway.
I have a set of shimano XT XC M775 wheels.
Im contemplating getting a set of hope pro 2 hubs to replace the shimano ones.
Is it just a case of getting new spokes to fit the hubs and away i go?
Your XT rims have 24 holes - Hope don't do a 24-hole hub (AFAIK).
If you want those hubs, your best bet is to just buy a new wheelset and sell your XT ones (if they're in OK shape).
With Shimano wheels... someone correct me if I'm wrong here but I'd say there's not a chance in hell you can swap hubs...!!
Definitely not with the Pro II hubs anyway... the Pro III might work as its 24hole and uses straight pull spokes like the Shimano wheels..
As usual with good ol' forward thinking Shimano and their wheels you are more or less tied into the proprietary spokes, rims & hubs... you have to replace one with the same..
The best thing you should do is cut your losses, sell the Shimano muck wheels and use the funds to buy a proper decent set of wheels...
Complete and utter Shimano muck... every time...!
A bit more research and it looks like Hope no longer make the 24 hole version of the ProIII..
You can get them as a wheelset in 24 hole but not as a hub on their own..
Seriously... just buy new wheels...

I have meant to count the spokes on the shimano ones but have not got around to it but i now konw its 24.
I was originally going to sell the wheels to fund a new build so ill prob just do this.
Shimano are a pain in the arse for replacment parts.
I had an old v brake set that i wanted to convert to disc hubs but was unable to get a hub that matached as they were discontinued.
ill do some research on some rims and dedcide which ones i like.
