Sram jockey wheel problem?

Just wondering if anyone has had problems with these,it started to stiffen a few weeks back and i managed to free it now its fooked? Anyone any idea if you can put a shimano one in or does it have to be sram? to replace from crc is crazy expensive and after been stung wont go near them again:mad:.Need it replaced by sunday.Any help would be appreciated,thanks

Mine were only lasting a year, the X0 wheels have bearings which last longer than without, but the teeth still wear. I'm trying the KCNC one now cos they are alloy, have bearings and are same price ish as X0.
Eh and they look nice too !

have you cleaned it oiled the bearings ? i have a sram derailuer for over 18 months on all my bikes at one stage never a problem but have worn out bearings that were cheap and dont think them shimano muck will fit

i have a x7 rear derailuer for 30 if you want you can swap the wheels if you want in good condtion

i'm pretty sure BBB make ones to fit SRAM..I have none but Al might in the Bike rack !!! never buy Shimano or Sram consumables..BBB do a great job !! I might have some but I'm not sure !!

Thanks for the advice,never really gave much thought to the original problem the metal seemed to wear right into plastic casing and left the bearings exposed, not to up on the technical side of stuff just need the bottom one replaced,if you get them bbb ones in i can pop in tomorrow evening its sram x9 thanks lads

You can buy 6801-2RS bearings that slot straight into the jockey wheel from Radionics online for about €5 each

I've repaird 3 of them that way

Colin , how did you figure that out ? and what were you up to when you did ?

The new sram mechs seem to have proper lower jockey wheels, but the old ones are brutal. I replaced the bearing like Colin did a few times but they didn't last long either. Then replaced the lower jockey wheel on both my sram mechs with KCNC and haven't had any problems since, and they look cool as fook, as seen here: http://www.epicmtb.com/gallery/showi...atid=newimages

Do they come in other colours, where can I get them from? For the moment im just lookin to get somethin to get me through sunday.

Jockey wheels... its a small price to pay for superior shifting...

Like Skyline... I have had numerous Sram mechs over the years... and have never had a single jockey wheel issue with any of them.. ever..

If you're talking about KCNC, yes, they come in lots of colours, I got mine on ebay, not sure if anybody local does them, but there probably are cheaper, less blingy alternatives available locally
