I did take tumble today but i didn't see any rocks hitting the bike... but it looks like I was wrong.
Just found two small cracks on the downtube, I can only hope they are superficial and will not expand further. Applied some superglue to it and will wrap gaffer tape around the downtube, if it's ok after a few spins then happy days, the only thing affected will be it's re-sale value = nil.

If its only small cracks it should be repairable if it starts to get worse, just keep an eye on it (and make sure it doesn't become a great big hole). Find out who BobbyT when to for his repair and avoid them like the plague.
Jeez Max thats brutal. I'll PM you my number and you can ring me tomorow. The fella who repaired my bike ( and a couple of others that were worse than mine) is based near Straffan Co Kildare. I'll have to dig out his number though.

Those are really tiny cracks and I doubt the downtube is any weaker, but I'd like to patch them for the piece of mind, I planed to keep that frame for a while.
I can tell but a small difference in the sound it makes when you tap it, i might be just the top layers of carbon but it's more than just the paint I think...

And I just step over it to get my Alu frame bike that will never let me down!
Max, I had an ancient Giant MCM carbon frame that developed cracks in the down tube around the BB area... the cracks were underneath the clear coat but clear as day... whether or not the cracks were in the carbon I have no idea..
Anyway, I rode the frame for many years after I discovered the cracks.. without any problems... I eventually re-sprayed the frame and gave it away.. the last I heard it was still going strong..
Carbon is a joke, barely any difference in weight over a good alloy frame, worthless second hand unless you are mad or brave. Max you can get that yoke fixed up but you'll always have a doubt in your mind when you hit the rough stuff, "Will it explode?" On the upside you will probably never see it coming, just awake in hospital with a nurse picking shards of carbon out of your arse.
But maybe I am just bitter since my only ever carbon race bike was stolen by TNT thieving couriers.
