Dialled Prince Albert

I'm looking to get one of these new Dialled Bikes PA - at €340 shipped to Ireland.

This is a real bike frame - this is not a bad joke about genital piercing!

The old ones got good reviews - very strong but heavy and a bit harsh - Reynolds 520 Tubing. There were a limited number of 853s made but the tubing was kept quite thick so they were not substantially lighter or zingier. It seems they missed a trick there.

The new frames are 725 tubing - there are not many reviews of this yet but it is lighter and I know 725 tubes are often used on touring bikes for comfort.

Does anyone have one or any strong opinions?

I know Cotic's 853 are the best tubes but as they are only ever used as main tubes and the stays etc are bog standard chromo.

Pipedream Scion's are nice but with shipping they are getting into Soul money.

This will mean there will be a large 07 gangrene Santa Cruz Chameleon frame up for sale very soon. This has the horizontal dropouts that all you freakazoid pervert single speed self harmers crave - just in time for the world champs!

I've no experience with the PA, but another option for you would be a Ragley Piglet or Blue Pig. Same sort of Price range, free shipping from CRC or you can drive up and pick it up and there are a lot of very happy Irish Ragley owners so less of a gamble/more established brand.

I've got a Dialled bikes Kobe Ti, bought direct from Dialled a few years ago. Beautiful frame, and fantastic to ride. Absolutely nothing to be afraid of as regards to the company. All Dialled Bikes are built super strong. That's the in-house philosophy. If you're a weight weeney then you're looking in the wrong place.

The PA has a more climby geometry than my titanium beauty. I've never seen or heard a bad review of one.

You're going to wrap yourself up in knots worrying about steel types and piping diameters. Just buy a fooking bike and ride the thing.

Apart from hating the name and wanting to hear Richie's reaction when he sees it first .... No!!

I hate all those boutique so called long travel hardtails..because while you get deadly riders like Fergal, oisin and Rusty on them..you get thousands of total eejits on them thinking they are deadly !
The 3 boys I mentioned would be deadly on mountainbikes regardless of their bike of choice..
And Enduro could ride any bike across the world and back because he is superhuman..

Long travel boutique hard tails only exist because there are hoardes of skill challenged self deluding middle aged eejits like myself who aren't good enough to handle 80 - 100mm travel bikes without ending up in A&E every second weekend.

Don't knock it - we're the ones clearing out the bike shops!
