steerer tube replacement instalation...

need help..i break my steerer tube last sunday up three rock were can i get and re-install a new steerer..thanks...

Technically you can't. You could press in a new one, but to be honest, if your fork took enough of an impact to break the steerer, then chances are it's stuffed.
time for a new fork....

How the **** can you break a steerer tube? From what I understand it's quite a difficult thing to do? Talk to James in OC Tuning - 01 492 9552.

depends on your fork but you're probably looking at a new crown steerer assembly and if your fork is an in expensive one then its probably not worth it.

I was cycling along minding my own business one time on the wocca woccas when I rode into a ditch and the forks snapped off at the steerer !! They were first generation Rockshox Judys..you must be one hardcore slut of a rider like me, Mr Jumbalumbadonkeyjericho !! ah Sean and Bruce had a good old laugh at me !!

fork crown down to the lowers are ok..it snaps right were exactly the starnuts is..try to remove spacers and install a new starnut but to short..

well it was obviously wearing away unknown to you..unless you are a real expert you won't know and all it takes is little particles of Ireland grinding away under the headset against the steerer..

Here's a suggestion... if the steerer broke off at the starnut end of the steerer you could try use a steerer extension device like this..

And even if it doesn't work out... its still cheap as chips than paying out for a new CSU or new forks... worth a try..
