centre lock V 6 bolt

centre lock V 6 bolt hubs , one is the dogs bollix one is dogsh1t, as usual experience based opinions only !!

Well seeing as you'd have to go with a shimano hub to have centerlock I'd say centerlock is dogsh1t!!

In performance terms I'd say there's very little difference - I couldn't tell any! With centre lock you are very restricted in terms of suppliers ...... Shimano and .....?

For me centre lock wins hands down, takes a few seconds to install the rotor and I also find the whole system stiffer than 6 bolt.
But then you are limited to Shimano hubs (XTR really) and rotors which sucks, so unless you already have those 6 bolt is your only option.

I have both and they are both disk shaped and shiny. When they are on they are on, then who cares? And CL goes on a lot quicker than 6 bolt. I vote yes!

Have to say I do enjoy changing 6 bolt rotors, I use a Torx bit in the drill driver with the right torque setting. I get my daughter to ride up, and I go at it F1 style, quickest time was 34.65 seconds.

It doesn't exactly take long to screw in six bolts and how often do you change your disc!!! And the only thing I could feel when using centerlock was the shimano hub falling apart!!

get away from me, its Campagnolo thats the best shifting, 1x1:1 ratio..its slick to the Max !!

CL is still quicker to mount, no need to centre the disk or check torque of each screw. Its just a better design and I think its a pity other manufacturers didn't (or couldn't) adopt it.

loads of companies do center lock now, mavic, dt and i think you can even get avid centre lock rotors. In general due to it being a pain in the ass when swapping bits from one bike to another and stuff not fitting i think its a bad idea. However if everyone used centre lock it would be great. Its easier to fit probably lighter aswell and theres no real downside to it bar it not being the most commonly used disk instillation method.
