Red Bull Fox Hunt Video

Nice, but am I right in saying I didn't hear one mention of the Blast in the whole thing? Hmmmm.

I know its horrible that they have just claimed the whole thing for themselves. Did they even run the fox hunt event that they had written about on their web page? And i see under Robins pic it says that he won the epic blast, even though he is standing there with the redbull 'Foxhunt' trophy in his hand. I guess they thought the 2 guys would come over and p!ss all over everyone and make us look like a bunch of part timers (which majority of us are). Thank God for Robin!!!!!

Theres no doubt that they hijacked it somewhat, but then they have the massive media presence. What we have to do is use this huge exposure to our advantage, which I have no doubt the lads are already doing.

I took a gamble agreeing to this circus coming on board with us and I think it paid off, everybody who is anybody knows that the Blast is EPIC and the Irish MTB Community. I'm happy with the outcome, the Video is deadly, come on..when was the last time you saw two mega stars get their arses handed to them by a homegrown legend on his going to the shops bike with a helicopter documenting it..thats what its all about, I was never under any illusion that we were going to see anything else, I would however have liked to get paid for it !!
But thats life in the real world..
Its enough for me to see Irish riders having a good time !

Well said Richie. Red Bull got something, we got something, it was always going to be that way. They can paint it anyway they like, everyone who was there knows the real story. There is no question that having the Athertons and the helicopter added greatly to the vibe, but the Blast will always be about those 300+ riders, and no amount of window dressing will distract form that.

And the video is sensational.

I'm confused....why is the fox doing the hunting?

It was good that they didn't mention the Blast. That's all Epic's.
Although the description Gee gave of the Foxhunt was in fact the description of the Blast.

Makes you wonder how much involvement they have in organising things like air raids, downtowns and rampages. Fair play to them though, they get involved in exciting events and sponsor some great sportspeople.

Richie, You should be very proud of the film, To me your as big as star as Robin is to Irish mountain biking after what you have done for the sport in Ireland. I was not there to witness the event, but its definitively made me homesick for mtb'ing in Ireland again. Wish I had a been there, But big congrats on what looked like a world class unique event which should be patented.

Great video! The chopper shots really add to it.
When you hear Foxhunt just think Blast, and for Redbull think Epic.
I see they got some inspiration from Victor Lucas and others in making this movie, e.g. opening scene is reminiscent of this past Blast.

Utter class

would have loved to see the video edited to reflect the actual race. The the battle at the front of the group was awesome and i'm sure plenty of other gems recorded of the main pack. Any chance now that Red bull have their pound of flesh the remaining footage be edited to show more of this years blast ?
