Clipped- Ins

As a new to"Clip-In" I feel as if I have lost confidence. Was doing the Marathon in Ballyhoura To-day and was losing ground to others on the decent(first race in clip in's)
Telling myself :8):8) to stick with it as this confidence will come back.
I am saying this hopefully but am noticing a reluctance to take risks while Clipped-in . Any comments and advice are welcome, Thanks
Stick with the SPD's Ferg, they offer a huge advantage on an XC bike. It's take 5/6 spins to get used to them, make sure to wind the tension screw all the way anti-clockwise, you can also get "Multi-Release" cleats that allow you disengage more easily.
And, more importantly, make sure the cleats are aligned properly (toe in/out angle) to avoid any knee strain / injury.
Stick with flats... trust me.. don't mind these completely skill-less clipped in dependant loser's... your getting a one sided opinion from people who do not and have not ever used flats for any length of time..

I rode / raced with clips for many many years... I changed to flats a couple of years ago and would never ever go back.. I've had several very respectable results in XC NPS's using flats.. finishing top ten in most events I've entered while beating many lycra clad, shaven legged, clipped in, beetroot eating donkey's along the way..

The only reason I'd recommend using clips to someone is if they were serious about racing XC or DH... other than that there is absolutely no good reason whatsoever to change to clips.. 99.99% of people that use clips simply lack the skills and bike handling abilities to ride without them..

Stick with flats.. push through the barrier.. you'll be a bike handling ninja and a much much better rider at the end of it all...
Nope.. I don't know anything about photography.. so I have no opinion on it..

And there's nothing worse than some clueless numpty handing out advice or giving an opinion on something they know absolutely nothing about... wouldn't you agree..?
of course I would !! ah the old flats vs SPDs..the big problem I have is that theres no contest..for xc racing it has to be clips..
I have tried many many times to master flats but as most of what I do is XC..I stick to SPDS.
I would love to be as confident on Flats as SPDS..but I have no patience !
the only problem I have with this debate is the terror people have of SPDS..Its unfounded and ridiculous.
Its the rider not the pedals..
I couldn't agree more Mr B...

As I said.. for competitive XC.. clips win every time.. no contest

Otherwise, for the everyday rider / weekend warrior, stick to what your comfortable with.. if flats be that then stick with them.. if clips be that then stick with them.. easy..!

I just don't appreciate people giving poor advice on something they know absolutely nothing about..

I doubt it, Terry wouldnt have anything to do with Wedding Singers ..

" Gerry is now well established on the local circuit doing weddings, pubs, clubs etc with his great personality and humour he is one act people come to see again and again. "

Thats a great description of Gerry Mac..obviously the Jazz phase was just another stop on the journey for him !! I know I'm delighted hes finally found his niche !!
