I am heading up to the trail in Ticknock, Dublin tomorrow. But I have never ridden the trail before, So at the moment I am just looking for as much details as possible.
I have spent a bit of time looking into this and I want to know how many trails are in Ticknock? and are they all cross-country? Im just looking to ride the new trails that colliite put money into!
Also when I google directions to the trail head, I can not find much...Why is this?
Eoin - there are 2 official trails in Ticknock - Metro 1 and 2. The Boneshaker is not an official trail. Frankly if you are travelling from Westmeath just to ride the two Coillte trails in Ticknock I don't think I'd bother!
thanks for the reply Richard, but Im not just coming up from Westmeath just to bike, I would have been in Dublin anyway.
Can you tell me more about the metro 1 and 2 trails?, Do they both start from the same place?, What distance?, Which one is more enjoyable (Techincal, fast flowing), Are the two trails waymarked and looped back to the carpark?
Don't know how long they are but each one takes about 5 minutes to ride! From the Ticknock car park you ride up the tarmac to the aerials - not sure if there are signposts - but there will probably be a few people around who will show you where the trails start!

Okay, so one is Up the tarmac road from the carpark (easily seen?) and the other in the carpark?
Would you ride the two in 1hour 30minutes?!
Thanks for all responses lads, One last question; Will you easily recgonise/see the trail entrance after you follow the tarmac road out of the carpark? (is there only one tarmac road out of the carpark, towards the mastes?)
