That would certianly give it the kick up the hole it needs.

Cant see why he would, unless it was for his sponsors, dont know how the
tour of Ireland would help his Tour de France preparations.The climate is nothing like France that time of year and neither is the course.
I reckon he will be in some high moutainous area that time of year building his red blood cells.

The ToI is scheduled for August AFAIK so its post TdeF. He also thinks we have a "very progressive" public health service so maybe he's confusing us with Switzerland or somewhere.

well if you watch the movie "Sicko" (its really good)... most people will consdier themselves lucky to have Irelands health system

It's actually Darach McQuaid who looks after the TOI. I saw the press release for the 2009 tour last week - should be an excellent event with a few big names set to appear.
