I've been invited to this by MBCC to promote their Munster series. So I'm going along with the Eurocycles Car, Tent and Bikes and having a race myself.
Anybody else thinking of going ? It will give everybody a fair idea what the NPS will be like there.
I dont know, I will have to find out..I'm going to them all anyway. Corrin is the following week , that was a deadly track in its day..
Now these boys are pulling out all the stops on this series to show the Country how to do it, I have been drafted in by them to come and tell everybody what its like !
now I know people are feeling that a 3 hour drive for a 1.5 hour race is not worth it but hey, thats your choice but if we all felt that way there would be no scene and in fairness to these boys we slated them for the Nagles last year and instead of giving up on their venue like some people and wishing things were better, they have come back and are about to show us that they are in fact the best promoters of XC in the Country ..I respect that and so should you !
I am expecting something special !

We are running this Series of races primarily to promote xc in Munster and to encourage more Youth participation as well as trying to increase our adult participation (There was only 3 of us tackling nps last year!). But you are right in that it also gives us an opportunity to host an event (albeit not on the same scale as an nps) whereby we can dry run certain aspects.
The trail this weekend will include 80% of our NPS Loop, we are constructing a new section at the moment which isn't quite ready. Suffice as to say that it will certainly give you a good chance to sample the venue. Certainly the feedback we get from a lot of people is that its a good venue.
So if you're coming down, there will be a warm cork welcome to all.
We have received some fantastic support in terms of prizes etc.

CORKBOY!:eek: I was just about to tell people that I had Ban Ki Moon and Buttros Buttros Ghalli coming over the UN to oversee a smooth transition to peaceful times!
To all those who make the effort to travel down it should be worth it track is running sweet in spite of all the rain. We have put down stone (small ones) to make it a bit "easier" , we have done lots of tidying in the last few weeks so it really is rideing well.:)
