Dunmore Mountain MTB Race - Saturday 30 June 2012

This SATURDAY (Pause to wait for complaints.... ) Dromara CC are putting on a next round of the Ulster XC series at Dunmore Mountain just outside Ballynahinch in the centre of County Down. This is a challenging course across open mountainside with some nice new sections added this year including "the Glen" and the stream run. For those of you who have raced here before you'll be pleased to hear we have taken out the top, final climb "Mulligan's Hill" and we have reduced the 'draggy' section into the main field!!!

To summarise
Challenging course which rides well in all weathers (no schloop)
Reasonable entry fee
BBQ afterwards "get your hotdogs..."
No midges!!

It is certainly less brutal than previous years and a more rewarding loop.

I'm sure you've seen on the news the rain we had up here today... monsoon stuff. But the course is solid, all rock and well drained soil. The one or two soft patches have been bridged.

Hope to see you all there, last chance to raise the form before the nationals i think?
I know you won't get many spots that will ride as well as this will given the forecast for the next few days.

This is a tough but great race course with plenty of elevation gain to get the legs strong for the upcoming National Champs in Djouce... get signed up before t8pm tonight.
