Today myself and Aine together with a bunch of other ladies, led by Silvia, went down to Fairymount farm in Tipperary/Offaly for a day of downhilling and uplifts. After the bull raid yesterday it was the only thing I had the energy for, although I think I misjudged the amount of energy required to roll down a hill! It was an excellent day, even stayed mainly dry despite a mini monsoon earlier in the morning. They have a great setup there, as many uplifts as you can manage, bike washing and tea coffee etc. We had done six runs before lunch and 7 or eight after. Two really deadly tracks, and they are talking about putting in more. They are only open a month or so and have great plans and ideas for the future. Really enthusiastic and friendly pair of guys who couldn't get us up the hill fast enough.
I rode the zesty which was well able to handle the majority of it. Anyone who fancies a not so lazy day honing skills and having the craic should check them out. Only an hour down the motorway, and 25 quid, for a days fun.
Don't worry, there is no chance of me turning to the darkside, I just love the pain of the uphill too much!
