The EPIC club league is over for another Year !

So the League is over after 18 Races..I suspect its between Gareth Fair, Terry O'Neill and Richard Lynch..Carol ran away with the ladies league and I suspect Scott Wallace ran away with the Non Members league.
A big thanks to Graham who was the main Organiser , we had a rocky start due to technical difficulties but once we got going fantastic.

All the racers from all the clubs that came along and raced.
We also had a disaster with Palmers Closing down forcing us to use Lambe Doyles as our HQ which I think was better and thanks to everybody for coming along and supporting that decision.
This year was the very worst in terms of the weather. So fair play to everybody who came along every week regardless. You are true legends.
This year was the best one in my opinion in terms of the Youth Riders with Dan, Dave and Paddy being so damn deadly and Scott from MAD of course. I am really pleased to see them in the mix with John Doris, Alfie, Max,Damo and all the other savages. Thats awesome
Theres a lot more people I could thank but lets just say I love all of you to bits and you made a crap summer brilliant ! A big special thanks to Richard Conroy, his wife and their daughter for the support too and Dave Lawless for cheering us on, for all the people who kept the course clear from crap due to the scumbags !
The League continues to be a fantastic success , entirely due to the commitment of the members and the riders from other clubs that join in..heres to 2013 and the driest league we have ever had.

I'm not gonna miss the mud and dirt and cold and wet.
I am really gonna miss everything else though.
It was my first year doing more than a couple of races and I really enjoyed the buzz of competiting each week with whoever happened to be in front of me that I was chasing or behind me and chasing me.
Thanks to Grahem and everyone else who helped out with timing starting and especially to Richie and Smithers for their unique brand of motavation.

I guess I am lucky..I didn't really care about the schlomp , at least every week you could ride the course regardless and the course is brilliant when you consider the amount of people what use it weekly, it has not changed at all, the switchbacks remain excellent and superb to ride. Over the winter I will give it a good loving and next year we will be ready with a fully working timing system, a schlomp free course, theres always that bit before the log that seems to be suffering.

Despite the miserable summer i'm gutted it is over for another year. I had a mediocre start and it went downhill from there, the current form is depressing to say the least, not quite sure what is going on. Time to get up some big mountains on the big bike and have some fun again. But well done to everyone, some great battles and fun along the way, Alfie showed that a busy job and relationship won't slow you down, maybe the nipper will. Terry inspired with his detmination and class, I would love to see him win this year. Richie took some amazing snaps and he and Smithers provided some great encouragement when it was needed most. The kids were fantastic week in, week out, it was always a pleasure to be passed by them. Fair play to Carol, she battled brilliantly all year and sometimes cut a lonely figure as one of the few ladies, but she's made of tough stuff, like a latter day Catherine Hepburn. Special mention to Graham and Adrian who overhauled the timing, the times were up pronto and while they took some flak I am sure everyone appreciated their efforts. Thanks too to the timers, starters, builders and everyone who made it run smoothly.

Next year has to better weather wise, and I predict the 29'er rabble will be out in force, time to start training.

Thanks to everyone involved in making the most miserable year for club league racing the most enjoyable one for me so far. The weather played a big part this year with smaller turnouts and a muddy schlompy course, but that didn't stop some great close racing week in week out, with some new young superstars emerging and the same faces battling for bragging rights.
Big thanks to graham for getting the timing and start times results up promptly every week, and everyone who did their part with the timing shouting encouraging, some class photos throughout aswell.
I'll be lost on a Thursday now so I'll be counting down till next April till the best little club league in Ireland
