Hey..we were up in the leadmines tonight and stopped for a group of Horse riders, they asked us to and put our bikes down on the ground, no problem as most people know I am all about sharing the trails , except this complete goober came tearing past us and up the hill to Section 2 ! startling the horses..whoever you are I hope you are reading this because you are a total and utter gobsh ite..Horses are big dangerous beasts and are skittish around bikes..I don't know what you were trying to prove, except maybe how deadly you are at being an arsehole ! But I never forget what people look like on an MTB..well done !

It's quite stupid to do this as everyone is going to instantly side with yourself and continue the abuse...but I'll put my hand up and say it was me. Let me give you my view of the events as I certainly didn't come tearing past ye up the hill... I came up behind your group (just at the left turn up the hill) and stopped behind ye as I saw the horses there. I obviously waited to see whether they wanted to pass or not. One of ye asked would it be better to get off the bikes and walk past, the horseriders agreed and so ye started getting off the bikes. Seeing as ye were mostly past the turn and were looking to go straight on, I got on the bike and turned left up the hill from a standing start. Not exactly 'tearing past' ye. At this point I might add there were 3 or 4 mountain bikers in front of me, between myself and the horses. I wasn't going at any great speed and didn't imagine I would startle the horses. It was an honest mistake and I obviously didn't mean that to happen. I have been mountain biking for a couple of years now and know well about confilct issues with other forest users, and I avoid causing conflict wherever possible. I just want to say though honestly, I am sorry for causing an issue in your local forest. It was not my intention.
As for your rant though, I'm not exactly sure what the point of all the above abuse is. I wasn't exactly trying to prove how deadly I am at anything. I was just out for a quiet evening spin. I waited behind your group until ye decided what to do and then turned left when I judged it safe to do so. Obviously it was a misjudgement. If you calm down, feel free to bring this up with me if you see me on the trails again and we can talk about this properly face to face instead of you hurling abuse at me across a forum. what can I say at least you owned up. So fair play, by the way, you're obviously new here so you are not familiar with my methods of communication , we have witnessed a lot of stupid behaviour up at the Leadmines this year and I'm very protective of the place considering all the building and the cleaning and the communication with the locals is done through us. The point of the Rant is to get people to realise that we all share the place and we have a responsibility to other users.

No worries, was just a bit surprised to be called a ****head, goober, gob****e and arsehole in one paragraph! That's a new one for me! Nah, I understand, we have similar issues where I'm from down the country. I've just moved to Dublin and live pretty close to the Leadmines. It'll probably be my local forest for evening spins so I'll obviously keep the conflict issues in mind for the future. I completely agree with the message you're trying to get across, just not the whole abuse part of it! But like I said, if you see me out again feel free to stop me for a chat and if there's any trail maintenance going on give me a shout as it's just up the road from me.

here..if you are going to read this forum, you are going to have to get used to abuse..its our stock in trade. Watch out for the Ninjas up there, the arsehole who smashed glass all over the trails and whoever thought it would be fun to make a trap of a log deadfall on a tree..EPIC built al the trails up there and I am just particularly cranky at the moment as I have no EPIC Blast to run.
