Other peoples bikes

I’m always amazed at how different peoples bike feel. I hopped on Zens Spesh the other day (he had kind of ridden off on mine) and it felt nuts, cramped ****pit and all jiggery, Clives Canyon also felt mad, like a wired stallion ready to uncoil, Justins Comencal felt like a truck, Gmacs Canondale (I think) felt amazing, like it has jet engines on the back, a long time ago I rode Peters steed, the bars where about 2 metres in front of me, I was prostrate on the thing, Richies Patriot felt great, despite being 90% insulation tape. I guess its like trying on other people shoes. The first time a sat on a NRS it just felt RIGHT. My Trance felt oh so similar to my NRS, which made me happy. So, my advice would be if you are going to buy a bike, never do it without riding it first, and never buy one off Rogan.

I only ever straddled two other bikes thatreally gave me the horn..one was MacDooms Cannondale Prophet and Damo mulchrones Slayer..
Rosscos Strokey was ok apart from the stem of death felt like my lapierre
I rode Rogans Stumpjumper up and down Snowdon and it was deadly, i also had a spin on kev Conlons Stumpy which was also great, as was Farty feckers Enduro.
I would not ride Roos little red for any money or Lukes Kona thats just an accident waiting to happen.
At present i'm on Karl Thomases old lapieere x-control 130....and despite the dents and the discombobulated rear linkages, the bent mechs, the 300 year old chainset..the tempermental rear brake, Oz's old Flite saddle and a chain made from 3 old chains..I like it..
it falls very nicely between the Beauty ( lapierre Team Issue Carbonator) and the beast ( Orange patriot)

being in a position to get to try out loads of bikes. I find it mad how some people setup there bikes. Sometimes you ride something and have no idea how the owner manages to ride it when there setup just feels plain wrong.

I find xc bikes wrong. like I'm gonna fall over the front. I know this it normal, it just feels odd. how do some people ride with 120mm stems and 80mm forks. I also think a lot of riders just get used to a position, and then set every bike up the same, regardless if it 's right or wrong..

You're OK on that yellow yoke, it's the ones used for deep river exploration that would worry me.

ah yes, but soon to be fixed as a part is currently winging it's way to me from some distant part of the globe ..
