Great write up RL, sounds like fun over there!
Savage results there Richard..I can't wait to go next year. Over 50's has to be one of the most savage competitions out there..
Brilliant report and awesome results, well done everyone.

Well done to all who traveled to the Roc this year. From the feed back it sounded like a great trip. Smithers I know what its like to not finish on the Sunday, I feel your disappointment. I hit a tree at full tilt and nearly tore my ear off my head and received 40 stitches and you got a CRAMP.
Some fantastic results and personal best’s but my respect goes to Richard Lynch who put it a savage years training and I am delighted he reaped the rewards on Sunday with a very fast finishing time. Glad i wasn't racing you this year. Well done Richard.

well done you old bo11ix but it was 29 seconds so there.
and I got no help from outside sources, unlike some others, but I am delighted for you.
"Oh ....... did I mention ..... that I beat Terry by 30 seconds!!! A full year of bragging rights there!!"
for me the friday night's boozing ruined sunday as I was dying, I was 4 minutes slower to the top of the first climb compared to my friday time. and I wanted to quit for the first 2 hours.
That coupled with the pressure of the first wave, as almost every rider passed me, and at one stage I reckoned I was last, but was afraid to turn around and look,
If only I had more discipline to go home early and behave, instead of skinny dipping until the wee hours like some teenage kid.
still I reckon I had more crack than i've had in a long time, and I managed to knock a half hour off both my previous years races, Next year I have a plan, to behave and put in some serious
training before I go.
and I have booked a special room with a secret number that time-locks you in, and the likes of smithers out, as we may as well have been sharing most nights past midnight.
I still have marks on my chest from dropping part of the chandelier on myself, one of Darragh's many tricks as the offending piece used to just bounce off him.!!
roc on 2013 and cheers to everyone for putting up with me for a few days.
Now max where did you get those togs from??
and I got no help from outside sources, unlike some others, but I am delighted for you.

Great write up Rich, that result is tremendously impressive and goes to show what training and commitment can deliver, whatever the age!
are you coming next year Don ?
I'd bloody love to, it would certainly give me something to work towards and at this age I need goals!
