Sunday 21st October Gearing Up Starts ! 2.30pm at the upper barrier in Ticknock

So..you have a kid..aged 3 up then come along for the next 6 weeks and we will turn them in to MTBers..

Now its very simple stuff..and in the process I will be teaching some Adults how to Teach the course itself. Dun Laoghaire County Council are behind this and while a lot of people think that this kind of thing is easy to achieve..try doing it yourself.
Cycling Ireland and in particular Rachel Ormrod is backing me and I hope all of you will back me too..Its time to start really thinking about the future of our Sport and this is the best way to start.
It will take 90 Minutes at the most and we will have the craic.

I am expecting to see some of our Tribe riders there too..
Richie
Hey Richie, I'd love to help out with these, great stuff, a teacher in school is forever asking about kids spins so i'll fill her in.
we will meet at the Entrance just beside the Main road to the right of the Play Ground..
Very interested, mine are 3 and 4 but still on balance bikes. Your post says age 3 up but the CI blurb says 11 up. Are mine too young Richie? It would be worth the drive over to YOU, from north county, if YOU think they are ready.
What do you think? Too advanced, wait a while or there's room in your program for nippers?
the reason I am going with under 11s is I have experience along with Marko of under 11s, I love the whole Balance bike thing. We can cope with them, its entirely up to me whom we have. just like there are over 50s that are savage there are 4 year olds equally dynamite.
Excellent idea, I have a 7 and 4 year old that'd love this. Do you have to be a club member ?

Also we are away the B/H weekend, will it be hassle to miss one ?

Thanks
Hey Richie,

My 2 are still on stabilizers... would this course be any benefit for them, or should i wait untill they're off the stabilizers?

thanks,
Mark.
hey Mark, yeah it would be better if they are off stabilizers but maybe you could bring them along for a look and see if they can join in or you could work on getting them off the stabilizers in the next week !
ok..Graham can you change the Thread title to 2.30 at the upper barrier in Ticknock..red tape has prevented me from going to Shanganah this Sunday but I will get here and it will be worth the wait.
Ok so 2.30 at Ticknock Upper Car Park.
Now if you are running late we will be doing our thing just up the road near Toms.
It will not be suitable for Stabilizers I'm afraid.
Striders or full on bikes, including BMXs..Helmets are completely essential.

See you all there..
Great to see the Gearing Up scheme kicking off. It's a good programme, really gets people through the basics in a fun way. Good skills.
